Swedish satellite broadband service provider Forsway has announced its new satellite terminals, the Forsway Odin F-60 and Odin F-60 Pro, made by manufacturing partner Zinwell. They will be available in the first quarter of 2023 and will succeed the F-50 model. The two devices can be viewed at the IBC Expo in Amsterdam from 09 to 11 September.

Forsway said its Odin F-60 and Odin F-60 Pro models are cost-effective, high-performance satellite routers developed for hybrid IP services using a combination of satellite and terrestrial data. They enable throughput of up to 200 Mbps from satellite to LAN. There is internal expandable storage for content delivery use cases They use DVB-S2/(X)/ACM for downlink with the ability to combine different terrestrial return channels. They will cater for new uses such as advanced SD-WAN and edge computing capabilities

The Odin F-60 Pro has an integrated LTE modem and doubles the data bandwidth from satellite, whereas the F-60 is a more cost-efficient version for scenarios where mobile connectivity and the highest throughput are not required. In addition to the new F-60 and F-60 Pro, Forsway is designing a tailor-made version together with a long-time business partner for deployment with its professional satcom operations, the company said.
