Forsway team up with RascomStar and Global Telesat for managed service for Africa

February 2018: Forsway are happy to announce a new co-operation agreement with Spanish teleport operator Global Telesat and the satellite operator RascomStar. The three parties are now joining forces to provide managed data services for Africa, powered by Forsway’s Hybrid satellite - cellular solution.

Arabsat acquires Forsway platform for Managed Services

January 2018: During this year’s Cabsat show, Arabsat announced in a press release that they have acquired Forsway’s broadband technology in order to launch cost effective Internet access services, primarily in Africa.

Cape Town, SES & AfricaCom

November 2017: In the beginning of November, Forsway participated in IDAFRICA17, SES' "Industry Day", prior to the AfricaCom event.
Tobias Forsell, Forsway's CEO, was one of the Keynote Speakers.
SES demonstrated hybrid Internet connectivity during taxi rides in Cape Town, using Forsway's satellite / cellular equipment. During the week, Forsway also took part in many activities at AfricaCom, in addition to a multitude of meetings and customer interactions, including the signing of a Supply Agreement with one of the major satellite operators for MEA.



Forsway Expand in Asia

September 2017: Thanks to Forsway's strengthening of our resource base in SE Asia and Australia, we have been able to initiate field activities in several Asian markets.
Since the middle of the year we have initiated new discussions and activities in the region and have also commenced demo and test activities in Indonesia and the Philippines.
Potential partners and customers in those markets include several governmental bodies as well as private communications and Internet providers.

New Regional Manager

May 2017: We are happy to announce that Mr Per Cedhagen has joined Forsway’s Team and will be working as Regional Manager, South East Asia, Australia and Pacific.
Per has accumulated several decades of technical and commercial experience from working with large hi-tech corporates (for example Ericsson) and Swedish start-ups, mainly in Asia.
Participating in the recent CommunicAsia show, Per got off to a flying start and will already next week tour Indonesia.

Forsway portrayed as one of Sweden’s cutting edge satellite and space companies

January 2017: The Swedish National Space Board has just released a publication entitled “Always Connected - Satellite Communications Make it Possible” (available in Swedish only, with the Swedish title “ALLTID UPPKOPPLAD - Satellitkommunikation gör det möjligt”).
Swedish space and satellite know-how has played an important role in the development of the international satellite industry. Sweden has also been a major contributor to the European Space Agency. After extensive technical evaluations and tests during 2016, TeleNET has selected Forsway Scandinavia AB’s innovative Internet access solution combining satellite and cellular technologies. TeleNET has furthermore selected one of the world’s premier telecoms companies as their Sales & Distribution and mobile partner.

Forsway @ Events

December 2016: Forsway participated during the last quarter in the events IBC (Amsterdam, September) and AfricaCom (Cape Town, November). In addition to the usual networking in the global satellite industry, Forsway were particularly happy to forge relations with new players on the satellite scene.

Forsway, the World Bank and Facebook on “Emerging Markets Could be Key to Future Satellite Profitability”

March 2016: “Satellite 2016”, the world’s No 1 satellite event, was recently held in Washington. Forsway’s Chairman Mats Andersson debated, together with the World Bank, Facebook and Inmarsat about the digital divide and was later quoted in the magazine "Via Satellite" as follows:

"Regarding 5G...the cost to go from 1Gbps to 10 Gbps is enormous. I believe that there is more potential to make money going from 10 Kbps to 1 Mbps. The developing countries could be the new revenue source and these countries now focusing on 5G might be in for a surprise."



Forsway's Indian activities covered by Swedish top newspaper

January 2016: Sweden's next biggest newspaper, Göteborgs-Posten, published on 20 Jan an extensive article about Forsway's progress in India.

The journalists had travelled to rural Uttar Pradesh to see for themselves the very positive impact Forsway's solution provided for the population in the village Bhatta. Previously, the people had to travel many kilometres to find decent access to Internet. Now the Common Service Centre can offer the inhabitants e-gov and other Internet based services against a modest fee.

Forsway's participation in Broadcast India Show 2015

October 2015: Forsway's Chairman Mats Andersson presented at the Broadcast India Show in Mumbai 15 October. Mats explained how Forsway had connected Common Service Centers (CSC) for a large number of villages in six regional states in August 2015, an assigment from the Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India.

Typically, villages that only were connected with GSM mobile data saw a 30 times improvement in data speeds when Forsway's system was added.

Speed record!

February 2015: In recent tests in North America, Forsway's customer clocked download speeds exceeding 70 Mbps using Forsway's Odin F-30 modems. The customer is now looking to expand the geographical coverage and service offering, utilising the differentiation made possible by the Forsway co-operation.
